Here at North Atlantic Scuba, our instructors and staff can take you on the learning experience of a lifetime. You can go from being a land dweller, to a creature that can not just exist underwater, but can enjoy and absorb the 70 percent of the planet that most people just talk about. 
Our entry level scuba class (Open water scuba certification), takes you from someone who has little or no snorkeling or scuba experience, to a fully qualified, certified scuba diver. Since 1973, thousands of people have taken the plunge at NAS. Our course is sanctioned by SSI (Scuba Schools International: WWW.SSIUSA.com). With an Open Water Scuba Certification from SSI, you can obtain scuba services from Aruba to Zaire. 
Each class has a limited enrollment, to ensure each student has an excellent learning experience. Courses usually meet on a Monday and Wednesday night, Sunday afternoon and evening only, or Saturday morning only schedule. Depending on the individual course, you would usually have three to five classroom sessions, and three to four pool sessions. The classroom is typically at NAS, and the pool is at an indoor heated pool. Please call or stop by to find out exactly what we have scheduled in your area. 
Upon completion of the pool and classroom sessions, four open water (ocean) dives will be made. These dives will primarily take place off area beaches. The open water portion of the course can normally be completed over the course of one weekend, depending on weather and water conditions.
Tuition for the course is $350.00. Tuition covers a student notebook, certification fees, pictures, and certification card, instruction for classroom, pool, and open water, and all required equipment for pool sessions. Tuition also covers all the learning materials for the course (text book, DVD, dive tables, and logbook). NAS has many purchase options for equipment necessary for the open water dives. You may also rent any or all the equipment at a special student rate. Please ask us for current price information. 

To register for a course a $200.00 deposit is required This allows the student to pick up all the learning materials. the $150.00 balance is due on the first classroom session. Deposits can be brought or mailed to NAS, or can be charged by phone (we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and Amex).
