At NAS, our instructors and staff can take you on the learning experience of a lifetime! We all start as just a a land dweller and then become a creature that can not just exist underwater, but can enjoy and absorb the 70 percent of the planet that most people just talk about.

Our entry level scuba class (Open Water Scuba Certification), can take you, with little or no snorkeling or scuba experience, to be a fully qualified, certified scuba diver! Since 1979, thousands of people have taken the plunge at NAS. On completion of the course, you will be Open Water Certified through SSI (Scuba Schools International). The world-wide recognition of an Open Water Scuba Certification from SSI, allows you to obtain scuba services from Aruba to Zaire.

Each class has a limited enrollment, to ensure everyone has an excellent learning experience.   Our most popular course schedule is a three week Sunday afternoon/evening course.  The entire classroom and pool portion of the course can be completed in just three Sunday afternoons and evenings. The classroom sessions are typically held at NAS and we use local indoor heated pools. Please call or stop by to find out exactly what we have scheduled.

Upon completion of the pool and classroom sessions, four open water (ocean) dives will be made. These dives will primarily take place off our local beaches. The open water portion of the course is typically completed over one weekend.(Weather permitting of course.) Open water dives may also be completed anywhere in the world (Bonaire, Grand Cayman, Red Sea, Cozumel and more!) with an SSI Universal Referral Form.

Tuition for the course is $379.00. Tuition covers certification fees, a picture certification card, instruction for classroom, pool, and open water, and all required equipment for pool sessions. Tuition also covers all the learning materials for the course (text book, DVD, dive tables, and logbook). NAS has many discount student purchase options for equipment necessary for the open water dives. You may also rent any or all the equipment necessary.  

To register for a course a $200.00 deposit is required This allows you to pick up all the learning materials and start your new underwater adventure! The $179.00 balance is due on the first classroom session. Deposits can be brought to NAS, or can be charged over the phone (we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and Amex).
